Middle States Accreditation

HudsonWay Immersion School is proud to announce that it has received full accreditation from the Middle States Association – Commission for Elementary and Secondary Schools for both its NY and NJ campuses for the 7-year term from December 1, 2020-December 1, 2027. The school joins a list of 3000 member schools in the United States and more than 90 countries around the world by undergoing a voluntary and in-depth self-study of its program.

The Middle States Association is one of six regional accrediting agencies in the United States. The Middle States Association is a part of the International Alliance of School Accreditors, along with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Typically, accreditation by any U.S. regional accrediting agency is recognized in any region in the United States.

Through the accreditation process, the school seeks the validation of its self-evaluation by obtaining professional judgment from impartial peers on the effectiveness of the total school operation. The completion of the in-depth study “Designing our Future” involved stakeholders such as administrators, teachers, parents, and students reviewing the 12 key areas that make up the standard of accreditation: Mission, Governance and Leadership, School Improvement, Planning, Finances, Facilities, School Organization and Staff, Health and Safety, Educational Program, Assessment and Evidence of Student Learning, Student Services, Student Life and Activities and Information Resources.

The process took nearly one and half years to complete and included hosting a team of peer reviewers for an onsite study of the NJ and NY campuses in February 2020 just prior to the COVID-19 lockdown. “We are very excited to have this significant milestone completed as it provides the acknowledgement of the quality program we have”, said Head of School, Sue Ha. “It will also help with recruitment of teachers and students, and membership to professional education organizations. We appreciate all the support from our school community through this process which has helped develop a blueprint for our future.”
